The Vision for Discipleship will also give believers
a format to follow in teaching future discipleship classes.
What do we cover in
these ten sessions?
We
look closely at the commissions of our Lord, and we answer four
questions:
1.
What is a disciple?
2. What
are the traits of a disciple?
3.
What does it mean to make disciples?
4. What
are God’s purposes for discipleship? |
 |
Why
are you here? We are all called to “go and
make disciples.” By giving you this instruction we are investing
not only in your life, but also in the lives of those you are currently
ministering to, as well as those you will be ministering to in the
future. We hope and pray that you will be among those who disciple
others in the faith in whatever place God plants or sends you.
Our goal is to see believers everywhere discipled and mature in
their walk with God. We want to have an equipped army ready to
reap the harvest and conserve it when God again sends revival throughout
the world.
Since you feel the Lord’s leading to take this class, certainly
you see the seriousness of fully giving yourself to Him in discipleship.
He has purposes for you in giving you this material. Don’t miss
those purposes by taking it lightly, focusing excessively on the
social side of gathering, or neglecting to do the homework. Our
goal is to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus; growing
in relationship with each other will be a natural outcome.
